Even people who take great care of their teeth with regular brushing and flossing benefit from preventive care visits. By seeing your dentist for a cleaning every six months, you can do your part to prevent gum disease, tooth decay, and other dental health concerns. Here’s what you can expect during your next visit to Northern Niagara Dentistry.
First, a member of your hygiene team will gently yet thoroughly clean your teeth. This is done to remove built-up plaque and tartar. Next, your hygienist will brush, floss, and polish your teeth for brighter smiles and fresher breath.
Now it’s time to meet the dentist for your checkup. Your dentist will perform a full oral examination, checking your teeth, gums, tongue, cheeks, and other tissues. This is done to look for signs of tooth decay, gum disease, oral cancer, and other dental health concerns.
Your visit may include digital X-rays as recommended by your dentist to check for signs of concern below the gum line. We use digital X-rays because they are faster, more comfortable, and safer than traditional film X-rays.
My goal is to help my patients improve their oral health and have a smile that lights up the room through gentle, personalized dental care.
